Events ==> Canoe Race

If you like EXTREME sports,
you'll love Soap Lake's
Canoe Race

Canceled - couldn't get Insurance for this event!

Not watching (although that's fun) but participating in it will really test your metal.  Imagine the "survivor" TV program crammed into half a day and you have some idea of what it takes to win this race.

Plus the race isn't "gender biased!"  Women and men can make up the teams either jointly or separately and canoe their way across 5 lakes (none of which are all that small).  Besides the rowing, the teams also have to carry — run with — their canoes between lakes over sage-brush, rattle-snake filled land in heat that can go into the high 90s some years.

Why you ask "would somebody even want to **run and row** with a canoe for 17 1/2 miles?"  Because once you do, you'll know there is nothing you can't accomplish.

This is a marathon with a "twist."

And the winner is?

The winner could be you in 2008 if you start getting in shape now!

So if this is something you think you'd like to do, set aside the 2nd weekend in July and find out if "you have what it takes" to win Soap Lake's canoe race!
